Match Preview:

The absence of Shikhar Dhawan affected the Hyderabad in the last game even though skipper Kane Williamson raised the tempo of his batting and found strong support from the big hitting Yusuf Pathan. Pathan knock would give him much needed confidence and will silence his doubters for a while!
While their batting may not be that big a cause of concern, the form of star spinner Rashid Khan certainly would be! Ranked the number one T20I spinner, the Afghanistan spinner has gone for 104 runs off eight overs from his last two games. Having had a smooth ride so far in his career, it will be interesting to see how he responds to this challenge thrown at him!
Mumbai have had their fair share of woes this tournament and their place in the points table barely reveals how well they have played in this season. They have been on the wrong side of last and penultimate ball finishes more often than not and one won’t be surprised if skipper Rohit is not left with much hair after this season!
They have comeback from difficult scenarios with both bat and ball only to squander their chances right at the end. It’s not every day that the likes of Jasprit Bumrah and Mustafizur Rehman get taken to the cleaners, but when they do, even the best of sides are bound to have bad days.

Match Stats:

The match against the Chennai was the first time in five seasons that Hyderabad played without both Warner and Dhawan
In the first ten seasons of the IPL, Mumbai had failed to defend 35 runs in the last three overs only once. In this season, they have already failed to do so twice – 47 against Chennai and 43 against Rajasthan
The Mumbai are placed seventh on the table, yet they have had three century partnerships in IPL 2018. All other teams have a combined total of three!
